We are continuing to practice our descriptive writing. Students are becoming more familiar with the idea of adjectives changing depending on the noun being masculine/feminine & singular/plural.
We are starting retells and finding the important information to determine the beginning, middle, and end of a story.
We will be doing various Christmas activities over the next few weeks, including descriptive writing, centres, retells, etc.
We are exploring different traditions around the world. We have looked at Diwali and Hanukkah and will be looking at how Christmas is celebrated in different countries over the next few weeks.

Centres have been a lot of fun! We will be continuing them throughout the school year!
We are starting descriptive writing this week. We are going to look at adjectives and how they change depending on factors like the noun being feminine/masculine or singular/plural and where the adjectives belong in a French sentence.
Kahoot codes will be coming home soon! We're going to familiarize ourselves with how to play within the next week or two.

We will be starting French centres next week. Students will be placed in small groups to work on different activities throughout the week. Centres often include a reading comprehension activity (done with me in a small group), a writing task related to our writing goals/interests, sentence scrambles, and a speaking activity (usually a phonetic poem).
We are continuing to do reading conferences to advance our J'aime lire reading level.
We are discussing and comparing our families. Everyone has been very open to sharing how their family is similar or different to a classmate's. The conversations have been very interesting!
We will be starting to explore different traditions associated with Thanksgiving.
J’aime lire folders will be coming home this week, please return the folder and baggie EVERY DAY. Please review and initial the information note. Appropriate levelled books will be sent home next week.
