Centres have been a lot of fun! We will be continuing them throughout the school year!
We are starting descriptive writing this week. We are building on what we learned last year in order to make more detailed/complex sentences.
Kahoot codes will be coming home soon! We're going to familiarize ourselves with how to play within the next week or two.

We will be starting French centres next week. Students will be placed in small groups to work on different activities throughout the week. Centres often include a reading comprehension activity (done with me in a small group), a writing task related to our writing goals/interests, sentence scrambles, and a speaking activity (usually a phonetic poem). We started doing centres at the end of Grade 2, students should be comfortable completing these activities.
We are continuing to do reading conferences to advance our J'aime lire reading level.
We are exploring the topographic regions of Ontario: (Le Bouclier Canadien - The Canadian Shield; Les Basses Terres de la Baie Hudson - The Hudson Bay Lowlands; Les Basses Terres des Grands Lacs et St. Laurent - The Great Lake & St. Lawrence Lowlands
Throughout the term, we will be looking at the environment, the natural resources, employment opportunities, and main cities of each region.
J’aime lire folders will be coming home this week, please return the folder and baggie EVERY DAY. Please review and initial the information note. Appropriate levelled books will be sent home next week.
